| I am sorry, but Muslims in Toledo are simply uncivilized. I don't know if it's because you guys are all immigrants or because its because you guys are from parts of the world where this type of behavior is considered normal, but the way you people conduct yourselves is really unprofessional and very immature. I have attended the Masjid Saad center for over 10 years off and on and I am extremely dissapointed in what I see. I sincerely hope you guys get your act together and do what is right and set good examples for future generations. It's unfortunate that you guys and the Perrysburgh Masjid are considered the Muslim leadership in Toledo, only by virtue of your extreme wealth, not for any other reason. I only wish a few of the other Masajid in Toledo had the type of wealth that your community commands. Then you would see true Islam and true civilization. If you want my opinion, I highly recommend that you Muslims just donate your wealth and allow indigenous American Muslims to do the real work of Islam. I am really saddened to see this behavior and actions that you do. In America, this type of behavior is not constructive, nor is it appropriate. This is a disaster.

| I would not generalize and say that it is all immigrant Muslims. I would say that some Muslims from certain countries just deal with things differently.
You will find that north africans, like Egypt, Tunis, Libia, Moroco, etc are more like what you are describing. They seem to have difficulty dealing with issues in a calm and controlled manner. Also, it seems that it is part of their culture to talk loudly and, to us, it seems like yelling, but I think it is normal for them. Also, they appear to be a lot more stubborn and emotional.
Muslims from the Gulf, like Saudi, Kuwait, etc are much more relaxed, but they are set in their ways. They don't care what you do or how you do it, but they will just disagree and get out of your way. They don't care enough to argue or cause problems. And you can never convince them of anything.
Muslims from the middle east like Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, etc seem to be the more civilized ones and are usually more intelligent. They know how to get things done quietly and in an underhanded fashion. They aren't in your face and rude, but they know how to be diplomatic and can get things done without the conflict.
I know those are huge generalizeations, and you guys are gonna think I am very rude and very prejudice, but that is what I have noticed. Everyone is different and does things differently. We should all be able to work together and get things done.
While it may not be possible to get the immigrants to all work together, you have to pray and hope that Allah does not make the new generatuions of Muslims act like their parents and carry on the same bad behaviours. This wuold be a tragedy. Make du3a that this does not happen. But it might. |
